Description

This is the 2nd time that I have reported the issue of cars speeding excessively going up and down chelsea ave in glenside. (North Hills) I have seen others comments on here with the relating issue. It's not just Chelsea Ave its Logan and Linden Aves as well. When is something going to be done about this? Are you waiting for someone to get hit and die for you to take any action? Stop signs need to be enforced and they need to do more than that. No one stops at the stop signs. Upper Dublin is not making any effort to resolve this issue and all they do is say that "they are investigating it". Something needs to be done. This is non sense. Clearly something needs to change.

I’ve requested speed bumps and brought up this issue several times. I’ve been told there is increased patrol in the area, but it clearly doesn’t help. I don’t know why Upper Dublin can’t pay to install a few speed bumps. I’ve also previously filed a traffic report as instructed and nothing came of it.

I am in full support of speed bumps in this area. This has gone far enough. If the UDPD needs help with identifying the cars involved, I'd be more than happy to help. It's the same cars from the same areas on Linden, Logan and Chelsea Ave. They are not going to stop on their own, so there needs to be more enforcement. I'm glad this issue is being raised again, because it's not fair to the people who live in this neighborhood to have to deal with this almost on a nightly basis.

And since this has been brought up I have not seen any police patrolling sitting midway on the hill, maybe occasionally at the bottom. The PD shouldn’t have to sit to patrol a known problem area UD needs to do something about it.

For several years I have brought up consistently about similar issues along Ft. Washington Ave in Maple Glen. They refuse to enforce the No Truck sign. Their stance is that a 85th of 40+ MPH is absolutely acceptable along a residential street. It is frustrating to say the least. There needs to be a bigger movement in the community to put pressure on the township to address these safety concerns. It will only get worse as traffic increases from more buildout within the township. Another event like the one along Susquehanna road is right around the corner if we don't.

I’ve reported the cars as well. They’re orange, green, and black Challenger looking cars. That park right up Logan after Chelsea.

Yes, they're easy to remember. And since we're calling out specific cars, there is a red Dodge Durango that is constantly flying by. If anyone with the UDPD reads this, they are not hard to find.
