Thank you for contacting UDOT. This signal runs different sets of coordinated timing plans in the morning, midday, and evening time periods and on weekends. These plans prioritize flow along the major corridor to minimize the number of stops for the higher volume of vehicles. This may cause some delay for side street traffic. This signal runs a short cycle starting at 6:00 AM before stepping up to a larger one at 6:30 - this is when volumes approaching north and southbound start to rapidly increase. We have evaluated this intersection and found it to be operating as intended.
